Steve Chavis was the national spokesman
and communications director for the international not-for-profit
ministry to men Promise Keepers for 12 years.
Before that he was a radio station
news director, and has been a journalist since 1976. His 30-year
career in radio and public relations includes non-profit community
radio, Christian broadcasting, and mainstream commercial radio news.
Steve spent the last 12 years telling
the story of the catalytic men’s ministry Promise Keepers to
audiences around the world, with appearances on CNN, MSNBC, C-Span,
and The Charlie Rose Show (PBS). Steve has been quoted in The
Washington Post, Washington Times, Dallas Morning News, Detroit Free
Press, and many other publications.
Steve’s work has been recognized by
the National Religious Broadcasters (co-anchor, 1996 Radio Program
of the Year), the Colorado Bar Association (1992, 1988 "Silver Gavel
Award" for legal reporting), the Associated Press-Colorado (1990 1st
Place Radio Feature), Colorado CrimeStoppers and Colorado Crime
Prevention Association ( 1989, 1987 "Outstanding Media" Award).
Steve studied journalism at the
